Battambang, Cambodia, December 2006..Le Yi, 35, suffers from very accute pain, she is a patient in the Tuberculosis ward from the Battambang provincial hospital. TB is endemic in the region, fueled by poverty, malnutrition, inadequate hygiene and the spreading of HIV/AIDS. The percentage of drug-resistant TB strains is on a sharp rise due to inadequate treatments.
