Bent Jbeil, South Lebanon, September 2006.Bent Jbeil, called by its inhabitants 'The Liberation Town', was the epicentre of the Lebanese armed resistance during the 18 years of Israeli occupation of South Lebanon. As a probable reprisal, the old town centre has been almost completely levelled down by the Israeli Army during this conflict and is now littered with unexploded ordnance of all kinds.
