Benghazi, Libya, November 2004..Every week, 40 trucks are loaded with 25 metric tons each of foreign food aid donated to WFP by various donors, mainly the U.S.A. and E.E.C. countries. These trucks will then cross more than 2500 km of desert across Libya and Chad to reach refugee camps near the Sudanese border. More than 200 000 refugees from Darfur have crossed the Chadian border in search for safety from persistant Janjaweed militia attacks.
