near Nepalgunj, Nepal, February 2005.On February 1st, King Gyanendra has decreted a state of emergency, suspending all democratic rights. The country is brought to a stanstill by the Maosist-ordered blockade; they forbid any vehicle movement on the all the roads such as the Mahendra Highway, the main East-West communication axis of Nepal. A group of Maoists has destroyed an ambulance, the only one in the region carrying oxygen, in breach of this order.
