Djur Al Saher, central Iraq, May 28, 2003.Tied-up arms of a victim. More than 600 bodies have been recovered so far from mass graves in this part of the desert. The victims were blindfolded and had their hands tied up; digging evidence suggest they have been pushed alive in the trenches, sprayed with bullets, the trenches were then filled in by bulldozers, a number of them probably buried alive in the process..All the victims are men from nearby Moussayib, rounded up by Hussein Kamal, Saddam's son-in-law, on March 5th 1991 in punishment for the Shia'i uprising that followed the Gulf War..
