More than 200 000 people gathered in Grant Park to attend Barack Obama's meeting on election night. As the results slowly came in on the giant screens, emotion rose. At 10 PM, when CNN projected Obama's victory, the crowd erupted in cheers of joy, conscious of the historical significance of the moment.
