Siem Reap, Cambodia, December 2006..Sre Mok is in great pain, she doesn't have enough money even to buy cheap Chinese 'Tiger Balm' that can relieve her slightly from very severe chest and abdominal pains. She lives in very precarious conditions among dozens of TB patients in insalubrious barracks at the back of the Provincial Hospital compound. TB is endemic in the region, fueled by poverty, malnutrition, inadequate hygiene and the spreading of HIV/AIDS. The percentage of drug-resistant TB strains is on a sharp rise due to inadequate treatments.
