Siem Reap, Cambodia, December 2006..Tro La, 9, suffers from 'spina bifida', a very serious mental and physical condition, usually consecutive to a genetic disorder. He is completely dependent from his mother selling books to tourists in the market. The abnormally high numbers of similar cases in the whole of Indochina comes as a longterm consequence of the extensive use of 'agent orange' (a dioxine ladden defoliant) by the US Air Force during the Vietnam war.
