Rafah, Gaza strip, Jan 11, 2009.A large part of Rafah close to the Egyptian border is left almost empty and looks like a ghost town as it is constantly pounded by the Israeli air force. Contrary to thousands of inhabitants who fled to less exposed parts of the city, this terrified family has nowhere to go and is cooking outside their home on a charcoal stove as they ran out of propane gas several days ago.
